The day started with a simple question: What’s your “spark”? The dozen teens, all students at Cardozo High School in Columbia Heights, shared their interests: Hip-hop, football, music, singing and pottery.
“Today is all about swag. Your swag, your talent, your spark,” said James Harris, a charismatic and heavily tattooed 25-year-old. Harris briskly paced in the front of the lecture hall. “You never know who is in the room, what they do and how they can help you.”
